How we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use this website or get in touch with us.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Who we are

Jay. C Solutions Limited, trading as JC Solutions (“we”, “us”), is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 14054450); our registered office is Natwest Chambers, 143-146 High Street, Cradley Heath, B64 5HJ, and we trade from Newtown Lane, Cradley Heath, West Midlands, B64 5EB.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, use the enquiry form on our Contact page, call 01384 438 445 or write to us at the address above. We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer.

What we collect

  • Enquiry form: your name, company (optional), email address, phone number (optional), the service you’re interested in and your message.
  • Phone, post and replies: if you call or write to us, or reply to our response to your enquiry, the details you choose to give us and the content of your call or message.
  • Technical data: when you visit, our hosting provider automatically records information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in server logs used to keep the site secure and working.

Please don’t send us sensitive information, such as health details, through the form.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and give you a quote — taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), or our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • To carry out work you’ve asked for and keep records of it — performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and, for tax and accounting records, legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
  • To keep this website secure and working — our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • To keep records in case of a dispute or legal claim — our legitimate interests in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims (Article 6(1)(f)).

We don’t use your data for marketing, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share it with

We use these third parties to run the website and handle enquiries:

  • Vercel Inc. — hosts this website, runs the enquiry form and keeps server logs.
  • Resend — the email service that delivers enquiry form submissions to our inbox.

We may also share data where the law requires it, or with professional advisers such as our accountants when necessary.

International transfers

Vercel and Resend are based in the United States, so some data may be processed outside the UK. Where it is, it’s protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data for the standard periods set by UK law, then delete it securely:

  • Enquiries, quotes and other correspondence, including enquiries that don’t lead to work: six years after our last contact with you. This is the standard time limit for legal claims under the Limitation Act 1980.
  • Records of work we’ve carried out, such as job records and invoices: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as HMRC requires for company records.
  • Hosting server logs: a short period, set by Vercel’s own log retention.
  • Copies of enquiry emails held by Resend: a short period, set by Resend’s own log retention.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • have your data erased
  • restrict how we use your data
  • object to us processing your data
  • data portability: receive your data in a reusable format, or have it sent to another organisation

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We’ll respond within one month, and there’s normally no charge.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device; session storage works in a similar way but is deleted when you close the tab. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the site needs them to work, so the law doesn’t require your consent for them. Everything else stays off unless you switch it on.

At the moment the site only uses strictly necessary cookies and storage, listed below. It doesn’t use analytics or advertising tags. If we add any optional cookies in future, we’ll list them here and only set them if you accept them.

Changing your choice

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time: use the button below, or Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We remember your choice for 6 months, then ask again. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser’s settings, though parts of the site may not work as expected without the strictly necessary ones.

This website doesn’t load anything from third parties: its fonts, photos, videos and the map on our Contact page are served from our own hosting. The map is a still image; Google Maps only opens if you follow its link.
